I am currently in my final third year at Doncaster Collage studying a Ba (Hons) Fine Art and Craft degree. Having been a florist for many years I now find myself gathering nature's leaves and Flowers found on my morning’s walks, from the hedgerows and the garden. The botanical prints of the foliage respond to the fabric and paper having their own unique signature. Using handmade paper, reclaim sustainable fabrics and tea bag waste the gathered leaves when bungle tightly together release their pigment with unique outcomes.
Taking inspiration from my natural landscape I hand sew simple marks replacing the pencil for thread. Scarfs, cards, framed botanical prints and unique shaped vessels are just some of the adaptable forms I have been experimenting with, on the natural print fabric and paper.
I have also a variety of ceramic work, using porcelain and paper clay to create texture and creative forms.
