Maia Weerdmeester, a third-year Fine Art degree student at Doncaster College, is pleased to curate an exhibition at Scicluna Deli in the Doncaster Market Place, beginning in the New Year.
The Square Roots exhibition brings together a cross-section of work from visual arts students based on the fifth floor of the East Building at Doncaster College. Foundation and Degree students are represented from Art and Design, Fine Art and Crafts, and Illustration courses.
Maia invited students to submit work in a square format, following her own practice which often incorporates squares. This exhibition offers an opportunity for students to publicly display their work at different levels of their academic journey.
More than twenty students are taking part, displaying work using a range of media: painting, drawing, digital image making, textiles, and print.
The exhibition will begin on 8th January 2018 and run until the end of the month.
Feel free to pop in and view the work, have a cup of coffee, and wander around this Aladdin’s cave of a delicatessen. Some art works will be for sale, with 10% of the proceeds going to Josie’s chosen charities, 'Let the Children Live' and 'Mary's Meals.'
