THE COLOUR OF SPRING

SO WHAT COLOUR IS SPRING? I imagine that we all have a different impression of the changing seasons depending on how we live
our lives. I can't wait to see what my artist colleague friends deliver on this theme. For me Spring is the new growth that appears in
the countryside and gardens. Early spring is always greeted by snowdrops and catkins - so that's yellow, white and green. but perhaps that is too early for Spring, as snowdrops appear in January and that's just me getting excited with the prospect of longer days and warmer weather finally on the way. watch this space and see what the artists make of it.....
included in the exhibition will be work by Carole Wagstaff, Stuart Blackwood, Rosemary Firth, Graham Firth, Maggy Milner, Maureen Fisher, Polly Warren, Stuart Blackwood, Janice Scott, William Sculthorpe, Neil McGregor, Jan Cintas and me - Hilary Cartmel
For me the 'Colour of Spring' is definitely GREEN. After the drab greys, browns and even the greens of winter I love the bright greens of spring, they take on a different hue and freshness, filling me with anticipation for the warm summer months.
